Camera Charger and Philly

I have learned a lesson. Check all bags for chargers before leaving house. We left for Philadelphia on Friday afternoon. Tim got out of work early and we were on the road by 130 in the afternoon. I like to take pictures of the state signs, when we drive into a new state. So we are driving along and I look at the map and discover we will drive through a small part of Delaware. I get gitty!! I know, I am a geek! So I get out the camera and I am all prepared. I take the picture to discover that my battery needs a charge. I FREAK!!! I don't have my charger with me and or second camera's battery is in the charger at home! Oh Man! I am not a happy camper. So, once we check into the hotel, my dear husband looks up several camera stores in the area. No one answers their phone, except one.....they don't have what I need. So, I just decided not to really worry about it. I decided to take pictures sparingly.

Last night we walked down to the Philadelphia Art Museum. The famous steps from Rocky are there. We all ran up to the top and I took a picture of Tim and the kids with their arms up like Rocky.

Today, we walked all around Philadelphia, we saw the City Hall Building, Liberty Bell, we saw where the Declaration of Independence was approved, on July 2, 1776. On July 4th 1776, Congress revised and in August, it was signed. Did you know, that the Capitol of the US was first in New York, then Philadelphia, and of course, now Washington DC. We sat in the room where George Washington stepped down as President and John Adams took the oath of the Presidency along with his Vice President Thomas Jefferson. We also walked through Betsy Ross's house (free with a military ID.) We saw where Benjamin Franklins house stood at Benjamin Franklin square. There really isn't much there anymore. There is a trolley that runs quite a route - $10 for all day for a family of 4 and if you under 5 free! It was great to get back to the hotel quickly at the end of the day.

To make the kids happy, at the end of the day we played Putt Putt and went to the park.

Tomorrow, we are going to go to Church at the Cathedral across the street. I sure hope my battery in my camera holds up. I love stained glass window in Church's. I think we may go to Valley Forge and heady home, too.

We have had a pretty good weekend and enjoying checking off another box on our list of things to do before our move, next year.
